FAQs

What is BuildWorks?

BuildWorks Canada is the online service provided by a partnership of Local Construction Associations across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. We connect Owners and Buyers of Construction to qualified providers while creating access to work and new opportunities for contractors, suppliers, and other service providers. We are the leading construction lead and information provider in Western Canada advertising over 7 billion dollars of construction value annually.

How do I find GCs and subcontractors?

You can find them in our directory, which lists thousands of major and niche construction providers. This user-friendly directory lets you advertise your company and experience, and connects you with highly qualified subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers in your market. Access the directory here.

How do I find projects?

To view full information on our project listings, you must become a local association member. Or, you can create a non-member account and pay per project to access detailed project information on a specific opportunity.

Do I have to pay to use your directory?

There is zero cost to search, find, and connect with companies listed in our Directory. To list your own companies’ information — such as company profiles, scope of work, past projects, and service regions — you can upgrade to the Basic or Premium directory services. See the pricing guide here.

How much does it cost to become a member?

There’s only a one-time fee to become a BuildWorks member based on your location and closest Local Construction Association. Find out more about our membership information here.

Is BuildWorks affiliated with my construction association?

BuildWorks is partnered with 14 Local Construction Associations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. We connect members of these associations with a network of our regional subcontractors, GCs, suppliers, and vendors.

How does your Invitation to Bid (ITB) system work?

We use a zero-cost, private bid management tool called On Demand. With this cloud-based software, you can send unlimited invitations and bidding documents. It lets you track and manage sent messages, scope coverage, and more with detailed reporting capabilities. You must become a member to use On Demand.
